Kithnos, Cyclades

The Kithnos Oasis is a four stoned house complex that is developing in the uncultivated landscape of Kithnos, with an unobstructed view of the Aegean.

These primordial small brick homes carry out the archetype of a hut, which was the first human residence made out of natural materials.

 

The openings function as a picture frame of the view towards the sea. The use of stonework, an element of the traditional architecture of the Cyclades, achieves the harmonious coexistence of the building volumes with the natural xerolithic landscape that surrounds them.
